It has been a very exciting time at Ray’s Barber Shop as we have opened our new Downtown location.  This Barber Shop is right in the heart of the downtown located at 154 S. Main Street.  When you step inside you will be awed at the spectacular size and the amazing details of this old building that has a history of being a famous restaurant called the Mayflower and then went on to be a piano recital hall for Daynes Music one of Utah’s oldest businesses.
Right when you step inside you feel like you have just stepped back in time  into an old time saloon as you see wood beams and painted ceilings with old lantern style chandeliers.  The barbers are decked out in vests looking very dapper and professional as any great tonsorial artist should be.
This barber shop truly is a Man’s retreat being able to feel pampered and important in such a masculine environment.
Being able to sit down chatting away with other business professionals or watching one of the six flat screen televisions all while getting a great haircut, hot lather neck shave and a shoulder massage for the great price of only $15.00.  Other services offered include the Classic Barber shop face shave with steam towels and straight razor shave that will leave your face with a smooth and tingly sensation that will make the ladies in your life want to rub your face all day!  And last but not least Ray’s has a crew of Shoe shiners that have the expertise and ability, that when you leave you will look great from head to toe.  So the next time you are in need of a haircut come in and experience salt lake city’s premier hot spot for guys to get their haircut and shave!

I came for a haircut for the first time 11/28/14 on the recommendation of some friends and I’ll tell you that I instantly loved it just when I walked in. It’s like a step back in time. I was excited to be led to a vintage barber shop chair and every part of the cut, down to the neck shave and shoulder massage was Excellent. I’ve found my favorite place for a hair cut. I recommend it to all men who have a romantic notion of old fashioned barber shops. I will return.. Thank you, Ray.
